In summer 2002 Hoffmann & Reif and the software engineering company Saxess developed jointly a directory service framework based on open source technologies for the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, Germany.
The Ministry of Education of North Rhine-Westphalia invited selected companies to a conference on "Information and Directory Services of Universities" at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Duesseldorf. The conference addressed university employees of computing centres, libraries and adminstration.
Sebastian Hoffmann and Dr. Hussayn Dabbous presented the innovative features of the recently developed open source based framework for the education sector.
